Dr Áine Mulvey, MMus, PhD Áine Mulvey is a professional musician working as a mezzo-soprano, vocal teacher and choral director. In 2012, Áine completed a Masters in Music Performance at the Petrie School of Music, USA, for which she was awarded a Travel and Training Grant from the Arts Council of Ireland. She was subsequently awarded scholarships by Dublin City University and the Irish Research Council to complete a PhD researching Song Literature in Ireland during the Irish Cultural Revival (1891-1922). Áine has performed as soloist and conductor on BBC radio, Lyric FM and RTE radio and television, and appears as soloist in the “Meditations and Reflections” CD released under the Signum record label. Áine has worked with many of Ireland’s top ensembles, including the National Chamber Choir of Ireland, Christ Church Cathedral Choir, the RTE Concert Orchestra, and Opera Ireland. She is in demand as a vocal teacher, choral leader and adjudicator, working on projects with Sing Ireland, Dublin City University, the Contemporary Music Centre and the University of Limerick. |
